Just to update you, we caught a second coyote in a Collarum
today only a week after the first one. It was large animal and despite
some very determined efforts to escape, was completely uninjured
by the trap.
We had great
success using the Collarum last week right in the middle of
urban Los Angeles County. In three days we caught three coyotes.
None of the animals suffered injuries from the trap. For bait we
used a piece of fleece or terry cloth towel tied to the "T"
bait cap. The fleece or towel was then soaked with a slurry of canned
dog food and glycerine.
...the Collarums
are still our best tool by far. We caught 35 coyotes this year in
the traps...in heavily urbanized Los Angeles County.

Just a quick
note to let you know I have only had one occasion to use the Collarum
. I had two nights to get a trap shy (foot snare) Coyote on campus
in June prior to our graduation, and Collarum'd him on the second
night. Used a sugar cane plant as a cubby type set. The coyote was
tired as heck and the former clump was 6' of trash but the snare
was in good shape. I like the trap and have recommended it to L.A.
Co. and others!
Now onto other research, so bye for now and congratulations on your
great trap.

"I put
the Collarum out the first weekend I got it. In three days
I caught two stray/feral dogs that local Animal Control Officers
had been after for two years. They'd run out of options. I look
forward to using it again in similar circumstances."

"I've caught]
Two dogs, 1 yote and 1 ole wolf (timber). I cant say enough that
if you direct the animal between something to center them on the
pull tab , you got em! I put a paws trip shock spring on cable and
used the nonlocking set up. I found no damage outside of animals,
(24 hr check) wolf and yote were easier to release than the two
dogs. Animals all ran away with normal gait, yote and wolf actually
stopped and looked back when aways away. This is just a small catch
but yr system works."

I have used
the Collarum for two months and have had great success. So
far, 7 coyotes and 33 "dogs-at-large" with these. I have
started cleaning up our city of dogs bothering local livestock.
