The throw mechanism of the Collarum™ is designed to last a lifetime under normal conditions. Although the cable is sized to be reusable, it will not last indefinitely. On average, three to four coyotes can be caught before cable replacement is necessary. With fox or dogs, the cable should last a great deal longer. The throw springs and cinch spring will wear out with prolonged use. They are easily replaced.

Don't mix scents on a pull cap. Try to use the same bait on the cap each time you rebait. Don't use urine, scat, or really foul-odored bait on the pull-cap. These odors cause rolling, scratching, peeing, or crapping responses rather than biting. If you want to experiment with different baits, use them on different sets; or use a "dummy" pull cap with no trap to test effectiveness. Rebait every week or so. Use less lure/bait in warm weather, more in cold weather. |
