VFR or Full IFR:

Navigation & Communication

Thanks to GPS satellite technology, navigation has become a more straightforward proposition. But adding another avionics system - even one as useful as GPS - to a crowded panel can also prove to be quite a challenge.

The solution? Combine a full-capacity GPS receiver with a TSO'd, 760 channel communications radio. Performing all the functions that previously required two separate units, this compact GPS/Comm concept saves space as it helps you budget. And it's available in either a VFR or IFR-certified version to meet your specific operating needs.

GNC 250: VFR/GPS Comm

With all the advantages offered by our GPS receivers, it was only a matter of time before Garmin packaged that technology with a communications radio.

The panel-mounted GNC 250, with a GPS sensor and a fully-TSO'd, 760 channel VHF communications radio, is the result. Add a bright, readable vacuum fluorescent display, and you get an all-purpose VFR system that's versatile, easy to use and very affordable.

A ideal choice for new-aircraft installations, the GNC 250 is also well-suited as an update for your current panel. Supplemented with a transponder, a GNC 250 by itself serves as a complete avionics package for VFR operation. No matter how you use it, the GNC 250 packs a lot of capability into a small piece of panel space.

On the NAV side, the GNC 250 features Garmin's powerful MultiTrack8 receiver, which provides clear, accurate navigation information. Reducing pilot workload, the GNC 250 guides you from takeoff to touchdown as it offers 'direct-to' capability throughout the VFR flight environment.

Your choice of three navigation databases (Americas, International or Worldwide) provide a wealth of Jeppesen information, along with room for trip planning and waypoint storage. Minimum Safe Altitude and Special Use Airspace warnings- data that's especially helpful when flying without the support of air traffic control- are also included.

On the Comm side, the GNC 250 incorporates a TSO'd , full function digital transceiver that delivers crisp, clear communications audio through all stages of flight. Standard features include flip-flop frequency selection-with frequency prompts from take-off to touchdown-automatic squelch and a handy 'cursor select' function, which enables you to select a standby frequency from the GPS database.

Providing convenience, value and a wealth of useful features, it's easy to see why the GNC 250 will become a fast favorite among VFR pilots.
